dancing at the Hilo YWCA under instructor Jill Brandtley. In 2003, Kazume began teaching the
Y's bellydance class, offering multi-level quality instruction and performances in this ancient art.
Classes at the Y ended in December 2007.

I s r a k a d j i r a explores mystic concepts in her unique, mesmerizing choreography
and teaches dance as the interweaving of life through the templates of esoteric studies
such as astrology, numerology, sacred geometry, energetic and elemental theory
(chakra-based system). Hui Habibi offers performances, workshops, and private or
group classes by Israkadjira through scheduled appointment.
Once a drummer and dancer for
Oahu's Sun Drum Village in the late
1980's and early 90's, Kazume now
regularly drums with Puna's Sacred
Wymyn's Drum Circle. Along with the
versatile and portable djembe,
Kazume may also include gypsy anklet
bells, finger cymbals (zills), and
tamborine in rhythm/movement
performances and workshops. Drum
classes are now available in private
and group sessions.

There is no comparison to Middle Eastern Dance in its transformative nature, especially to the female
body. It is a holistic art form. By pursuing regular devotion, one begins to clear the mind of negative
thought forms and stereotypes as Woman realizes herself as Beautiful and Divine. In the acts of
isolating and vibrating various parts of her body, she is expressing and releasing the energies contained
there. Stagnant energies are circulated and revitalized, not allowed to pool and collect. As her body
tones up, self-esteem and confidence rises as well, giving her greater abilities to express that which
comes from within.
